“Beneath our awareness, our culture imprints a negative force-field that blocks the natural rise of our spirit toward our true, innate nature of love & altruism.” – Joseph Chilton Pearce
I grabbed this quote from a website I randomly visited because it caught my eye and spoke to me. It reminds me that everything in this world, more specifically, what we are conditioned to see and accept via mainstream media, is all a huge facade that shouldn’t be taken so seriously. Sure, there is much inspiration to gain from watching and listening to certain things in popular culture, but we must remember that none of it essentially matters. We are so caught up in who we want to become and those inspiring us to become the person we have imagined ourselves to be, that we lose the very thing that makes us who we are; our SPIRIT.
This isn’t about religion so I’m not going to tell you that you need to go to church everyday. This is strictly about spirituality. This quote reminds me that what we need most from ourselves is what we pay attention to least. We need to sit back and recharge. Get in tune with your spirit. Take time to reflect and meditate and more importantly, take your eyes off the damn screen! We are so distracted nowadays and most of what we are distracted by is meaningless.
When is the last time you sat outside and instead of scrolling through Instagram, you sat back and looked at the sky? When is the last time you let your mind wander and let yourself wonder about the beautiful planet that you inhabit? When have you realized the natural beauty surrounding you and have really taken the time to let that sink in? When you have you ever questioned the meaning of life as well as your own?
To appreciate life and all that it gives is so much more than just achieving dreams/goals that are almost always tied to something materialistic or financial. For example, getting the career you want so that you can make the amount of money you want that way you can afford the house, car, and overall life you want with whatever perks you can manage to get along the way and hopefully, you find true love in the process. That’s pretty much what people want out of life in a nutshell.
That ISN’T living a true life. We are spiritual beings that exist inside a human body. When we die, we WILL return to being that spiritual being 100% without the limitations of physical form. Maybe I sound crazy but I truly believe that death is just another gateway to another life on a higher plane. I’ll always try to remind myself of this so that my soul is ready for that journey when the time comes.
If only more people thought this way. I wonder what the human race could achieve if our thoughts were redirected to more nourishing matters. Especially, if those thoughts were sent into the universe in unison or at least the majority. I believe we’d be able to achieve PHENOMENAL things.
It’d be a beautiful world indeed.
(I’m sure I went off topic sort of but I hope you enjoyed this post. It was supposed to be short but I couldn’t stop my fingers from typing once I began! lol)
Remember that all the money, fame, careers, popular this or that, and yes, even love, will not matter one bit once we are gone. We won’t be able to bring anything from this world into the next except what we fed to our inner being, my friends.
Make sure YOU live the life YOU deserve and fill it with as many meaningful moments and as much purpose as possible.
